A brush head is soft, broad and blunt. It is built to sweep a whole tooth surface twice a day, and it is very good at exactly that.
What it is not built for is the discolouration that settles on top of the enamel — the coffee shadow on the lower front teeth, the tea line along the gum margin, the marks that build slowly enough that you stop noticing them until a photograph reminds you.
Those sit on surfaces a brush passes over rather than sits against. A fine tip, five intensities and a light to see by is a different tool for a different job.
It is built to know the difference.
“Will it hurt my gums” is the first thing anybody asks about a metal tip. Here is the actual answer.
It works. A hard surface is detected and the tip runs.
It pauses. Soft tissue is detected and the tool stops itself.
The transducer is designed to distinguish a hard tooth surface from soft gum tissue and pause when it meets the second. That design is the reason we are comfortable putting a fine metal tip in your hands.
It is not a reason to be careless, and we are not going to tell you it makes the tool risk-free. The instruction does not change: start at Gentle, keep the tip moving, never press hard, stay off the gum line. If anything feels sharp, drop a level or stop.
Five strengths of one mechanism.

A light where you are working.
The LED sits behind the tip and lights the tooth surface directly in front of it.
That sounds small. In practice it is the single biggest difference between this and every other tool in your bathroom: you are targeting a mark you can actually see rather than feeling for it in a badly-lit mirror and hoping.

There is no technique to learn. The only rule that really matters is the third one.
Charge it and pick a level
Charge over the included USB cable, fit a head, and start at Gentle. You can always step up. Stepping down after you have been too aggressive is harder.
Switch the light on and look
The LED lights the surface in front of the tip. Work by sight rather than by feel — that is most of the point of the tool.
Rest the tip. Do not press.
Trace along the stain line in short passes and keep the tip moving. Let the vibration do the work. Rinse, dry the tip, and put the cap back on.

What is this actually for?
Surface staining and visible buildup on the tooth faces you can see and reach — the marks left by coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco. It is a cosmetic oral-care tool. It is not a medical device and it is not a substitute for a dental appointment.
Will it hurt?
It should not. The tip is designed to pause when it meets soft tissue, and the levels start deliberately low. Start at Gentle, keep the tip moving, and never press hard. A faint tingle is normal. Anything sharp means drop a level or stop.
What do the five levels do?
They change the intensity of the same action — Gentle, Comfort, Cleaning, Enhanced, Powerful. Five strengths, not five different functions. Most people stay in the first two.
Can it replace my dentist?
No. Hardened deposits, anything below the gum line, and anything to do with gum health or decay are your dentist’s job and always will be. This is for keeping visible surface staining in check between appointments.
Can it replace my toothbrush?
Also no. Brush twice a day and floss exactly as you do now. This is an occasional extra, not a daily replacement.
What comes in the box?
Every kit: the tool, a USB charging cable, a protective cap, a tip wrench and the retail box. Basic adds 2 cleaning heads, Deluxe 4, and Complete 4 plus dental floss.
How is it charged, and how long does it last?
A built-in rechargeable battery, charged over the included USB cable from any standard USB port. We do not publish a runtime figure, because we do not have one verified by the manufacturer. We would rather tell you that than invent a number.
How do I clean and store it?
Rinse and dry the tip after use, then put the protective cap back on. Do not submerge the body and do not charge it while wet. We have no verified water-resistance rating for it, so we are not going to imply one.
Do the heads wear out?
Yes — they are consumable, like a toothbrush head. Replace one when the tip no longer feels smooth. Refill packs are available from us at £15.00 for two and £19.00 for four, and you can add a pack to this order above.
Which kit should I pick?
Deluxe, for most people. Heads are consumable and four gets you meaningfully further — the two extra cost £4.00 here against £15.00 as a refill pack. Take Complete if you want the floss in the same box, and Basic if you just want to try it.
